Our Commitment to Sustainability

At Mercure Sydney Liverpool, we're committed to creating more sustainable stays by reducing our environmental impact while continuing to deliver a comfortable and memorable guest experience. Sustainability is an ongoing journey, and we're continually investing in initiatives that help protect our planet for future generations.

As part of this commitment, we've been working to eliminate single-use plastics throughout the guest experience. We've transitioned to large-format, eco-friendly pump dispenser bathroom amenities and removed single-use plastic water bottles, straws and toiletries, significantly reducing unnecessary waste.

To encourage responsible recycling, guest rooms are equipped with dedicated recycling bins, making it easier for guests to separate recyclable materials during their stay.

Across the hotel, we've improved energy efficiency through the installation of LED lighting, reducing electricity consumption while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. We're also supporting cleaner transport with onsite electric vehicle (EV) charging stations for guests travelling by electric car.

Our investment in renewable energy includes the installation of solar panels across the property, helping to generate clean electricity and reduce our reliance on traditional energy sources.

In our kitchens, an onsite food biodigester processes organic waste, diverting food scraps from landfill and helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with food waste.

We also actively monitor our environmental performance through our partnership with EPX, using real-time data to track electricity, water and gas consumption. This enables us to identify opportunities for greater efficiency and continuously improve our operations.

Water conservation is another important focus. Throughout the hotel, water-efficient taps, showers and toilets help reduce water consumption without compromising guest comfort.

Accessibility

Mercure Sydney Liverpool provides facilities for guests of all abilities. All entrances are accessible via access ramps and there is lift access to every accommodation floor. Designated parking spaces for guests with disabilities is provided. We have wheelchairs available for use by guests and patrons as required.

Our nine accessible hotel rooms are equipped with wide entry and bathroom doors, accessible bathrooms with grab rails, wheel in showers, lowered vanities and long handle mixer taps. Five of these rooms offer motorised curtains.

Our staff are trained to deliver customer service and assistance with care, compassion and understanding to guests of all abilities. Assistance animals are welcomed.
